Steven was a man of boundless talent, generosity, and kindness. His heart was as big as his mind, and there was truly nothing he couldn’t do. A man of many abilities, Steven was a self-taught musician and vocalist, a master mechanic, a skilled craftsman, a talented graphic artist, and even a baker known for creating whimsical cakes that delighted all who tasted them. He had an unrelenting passion for learning, and whether it was tinkering with machines, restoring cars, or creating beautiful works of art, Steven approached everything he did with precision and perfection. He didn’t just get things done—he mastered them. His work was always infused with his unique touch, and his creations reflected his immense skill and attention to detail.
Steven’s love for art and art history was evident to anyone who spent time with him. He had an appreciation for beauty in all its forms, and he often shared his knowledge and insights with others. His deep love of music, particularly his admiration for The Beatles, was another one of his passions that enriched his life and the lives of those around him. He found comfort and joy in the melodies of his favorite band, and his enthusiasm for music was infectious. It was just one of the many ways Steven shared a piece of himself with the world.
One of the things Steven was most proud of was his 1968 Mercury Cougar, which he spent years lovingly restoring. The car had sat in his driveway, unused, for over a decade, but Steven was determined to restore it to its original, pristine condition. He poured his heart and soul into the project, and when it was finally finished, it stood as a testament to his perseverance, skill, and dedication. The car was more than just a restoration project—it was a reflection of who Steven was: meticulous, passionate, and driven by a desire to create something truly remarkable.
Steven’s intellect and drive also shone through in his academic accomplishments. He graduated with honors from St. Peter’s Boys High School and went on to the New York Institute of Technology, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in architecture, graduating with the highest honors. His academic achievements were a testament to his brilliance and his unwavering commitment to excellence. Steven’s ability to excel in every area of his life, whether it was his career or his personal pursuits, was nothing short of extraordinary.
But beyond his impressive list of talents and accomplishments, it was Steven’s character that truly set him apart. He exuded warmth, kindness, and laughter. His presence could light up any room, and his ability to make others feel at ease was one of the things that made him so beloved. Steven’s generosity knew no bounds, and he always made time to help others, whether it was lending a hand to a friend or offering advice to someone in need. He was a man who truly cared, and that was felt by everyone who crossed his path.
Steven’s family was the center of his world. He was the loving husband of Ellen for almost 35 years, a devoted father to his daughter Victoria Russo (Christian), and to his son Steven Vincent (Alexa Frazetto). He cherished his role as a father and found great joy in watching his children grow and succeed. His love for his family was unconditional, and he was always there to offer support, encouragement, and love. Steven’s fur babies—MeowMeow, Moshi, and baby Tank—were also incredibly important to him, and he considered them an integral part of his family.
As we mourn the loss of Steven, we are reminded of the love and joy he brought into our lives. His absence will leave a profound void, not only in his family but in the lives of all who knew him. Steven’s warmth, his laughter, and his generosity will be deeply missed, but we will carry those memories with us always. We will remember him not just for his extraordinary talents, but for the incredible person he was—someone who gave selflessly, loved deeply, and brought happiness to those around him.
Heaven has gained its newest angel, albeit far too young. We take comfort in knowing that Steven is now at peace, free from the pain and suffering he endured.
